Adipex types

Although the formula remains the same, there are two primary Adipex types which could be prescribed to you when your doctor has decided that these diet pills are the best option for your needs. Both forms of the drug contain the same ingredients and will produce the same appetite suppression and energy boosting, but they do so in slightly different ways.

The two main Adipex types are the tablets and the capsules. They are each different forms of pills and their differences are important but minor.

The tablet form of the Adipex types is small, fast acting, and easy to swallow. They are recognizable as all white oblong pills with a line in the middle and blue speckles. The tablets contain 37.5mg of the generic drug called Phentermine hydrochloride. This is typically considered to be the standard form of the drug.

Though most patients are prescribed this medication at its full strength, some are required to alter their dosage. With the tablet form of the Adipex types, this is possible by cutting it along the marked line, using a pill cutter. This produces two 18.75mg halves of the original pill. While some people are prescribed half a pill per day, others are directed to take one half first thing in the morning and the other half slightly later on, in order to extend the effects throughout the day.

It is important to follow the doctor’s dosage instructions in order to ensure the safest use of this medication. If you would like to change your dose, consult with the prescribing physician before doing so.

The other of the two main Adipex types is the capsule. These are also easy to swallow and contain 37.5 mg of Phentermine hydrochloride. However, it is easy to tell the difference between these and the tablets because of their distinct appearance. The capsules have one blue side and one white side with two blue stripes.

The capsules provide the same appetite suppressing effect as the tablets, but they do so in a time released way. Therefore, the ingredients are absorbed more slowly into the body for a lasting effect throughout the day.

It is important to note that in the capsule version of the Adipex types, the pills should never be broken, cut, chewed, or crushed. They must be swallowed whole with a glass of water in order to safely use them. Taking a pill that has been broken in any way can risk overdose as too much of the drug will enter the body at one time. Be sure to speak with your doctor or pharmacist about how you should safely take these pills.
